Lot Essay

Ryan Trecartin's work tests the boundaries of authorship and creative practice. Orchestrating a large group of artists, Trecartin offers a platform of uniting vision, garnering various levels of response from his collaborators. Devoid of ego, Trecartin subtly builds a community vision based on collective value, spontaneity, and mutual support. Mother encapsulates this harmonious spirit. Oversized, and slightly Charles-Ray-perverse, she towers as a matriarch of DIY splendor.
