RUSSIAN, LATE 18TH CENTURY
The Saint is represented frontally, bearing together with his halo and mitre, gazing at the icon of the Mother of God at the upper left corner. The delicately painted icon is covered by a silver and gilt oklad, which is embellished with filligree, river pearls and gems. It is set in a wooden box, the wings of which are lined in black velvet and the exterior is covered in leather.
