The saint, dressed in the monk's attire with a cross hanging on a beaded chain on his chest, blesses with his right hand and carries an inscribed scroll and his crook in his left hand. His head is finely painted and the folds of his garments are emphasised either with dark or gold shades. His figure stands out in the gold background.
The inscription at the lower left corner says that the icon was commisioned by a certain Michael in 17(4?)3. The initials of the artist's are also included.
