Lot Essay

The first recorded house, built by John Dartnall and his brother Brian, was an oak-framed property called Poundsbridge Manor, just outside Penshurst in Kent. It was built for their father, William Dartnall, Rector of Penshurst. The house is still in existence today, bearing the date 1593.
