Lot Essay

The inscribed poem can be translated as:
'As the rain pauses and the wind blows,
I sat in a small boat,
humming poems and enjoying the peaceful evening waves.
The sun sets in the west
below the thousand-layered mountains
Looking out over the clear river,
My soul slides away into the far, far distance.'
