Lot Essay

Born in Huating, Shen Zongjing received the jinshi degree in 1688 and was subsequently appointed to a post at Taipu Temple. He most commonly painted landscapes in the style of Yuan dynasty masters and was also an accomplished musician, poet and calligrapher.
