The Legion Book was published to raise funds for the British Legion and included contributions from authors and artists of the time. Captain Cotton Minchin, the recipient of this letter, was the editor.

One-page typed letter signed ("Winston S. Churchill"), to H. C. Minchin, 8°, British Embassy, Washington, D. C., March 3, 1946 (punch mark to corner).
Regretting that he is unable to meet for a talk during his visit to Westminster College for a ceremony and adding: "I appreciate your kindness in wishing to consult me about the disposal of the special editions of "The Legion Book," but, as I have no strong feelings about this, I am quite agreeable to your acting in accordance with all the expert knowledge you and your colleagues have at your disposal in the matter."
