Third edition and the first complete edition of Smith's library. Smith (1682-1770), who was British Consul at Venice, sold his valuable collection of incunabula (with a few manuscripts) to King George III in 1765 for #10,000. The collection became the nucleus of "The King's Library", now in the British Museum.
