Tasso'), and thanking his correspondent for the gift of a Bach edition, one page, 90 x 140mm (slight staining, punch holes); [and] Hugo von HOFMANNSTHAL (1874-1929). Autograph letter signed to 'Herr Heimann', Rodaun, 25 November, n.y., an admiring consideration of the Nobel prize winning German playwright Gerhart Hauptmann, 2 pages, 4to. In September 1910 Strauss had finished work on his most famous collaboration with von Hofmannsthal, Der Rosenkavalier. (2)
