18 x 18 in. Linen, printed in black, margins with contrasting bright white woven lines, scattered minor spotting. Preserved in a sunken mat with marbled edging, matted and glazed in a carved wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.

Attractive bandanna produced for Blaine's unsuccessful 1884 campaign for the presidency, in which Democrats taunted him with the memorable chant "Blaine! Blaine! James G. Blaine! Continental liar from the state of Maine!" H.C. Collins, Threads of History, Washington D.C.: Smithsonian, 1979, no.538.
