A Peter Cook Custom Bass guitar in yellow and red finish, 'flame' shaped body, gold parts, bound neck, twenty four fret fingerboard with dot inlays, 'flame' shaped headstock with red plastic truss rod cover, two pickups, three rotary controls, gold bridge baseplate with four adjustable saddles, red irregular shaped plastic pickguard; and a brown rectangular flight case -- owned and played by John Entwistle circa early 1970s, most notably whilst performing on Top of The Pops, whilst wearing a red suit with matching 'flame' design (2)

Lot Essay

Peter Cook was a renowned luthier/guitar maker in the 1970s, producing a considerable amount of custom work for John Entwistle and bands including Slade, The Damned, Motorhead amongst others. Cook also designed the affordable 'Ned Callan' range made by Shergold guitars.
