Lot Essay

Hailing from Bordeaux, Duverger was self-taught and sent works to the Salon from 1846-1882. His paintings were characteristically warm and clear and hang in museums such as Bordeaux, Cambrai, Glasgow, Hambourg and Luxembourg.
