Lot Essay

Very little is known of the artist except that Thomas Bowles published a set of prints titled Twenty-Two Prints of Several of the Capital Ships of His Majties Royal Navy with Variety of other Sea Pieces, during the reign of George I, after the drawings of T. Bastion.
