3 9/16 in. (9.1 cm.) and 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) diam., ormolu oak and berry leaf mounts within rectangular black wood frames, the former surmounted by a coronet (2)

Lot Essay

Vittorio Emanuele (1759-1824), third son of Vittorio Amedo III (1726-1796) and his wife, Maria Antonietta (1729-1785), youngest daughter of Felipe V, King of Spain, succeeded his brother Carlo Emanuele IV as King of Sardinia in 1802. He married Maria Teresa (1773-1832), eldest daughter of Ferdinando, Duke of Modena, Archduke of Austria in 1789 and had issue.
