Each of square form with a section of a broad dense border design of interlaced meandering turquoise and cobalt-blue stems issuing very bold tulip flowerheads and serrated leaves on a white ground, red slightly misfired on one, each with repaired breaks

Lot Essay

The eighteenth century tomb of Hazret-i Seyman in Diyarbekir re-used sixteenth century tiles including ones of the design seen here.
