TWO FAMILLE ROSE CUPS AND SAUCERS
YONGZHENG-QIANLONG PERIOD (1723-1795)
The first cup and ruby-back saucer are decorated with a landscape with a scholar on horseback looking back towards his attendant, and the exterior of the saucer is covered in a crushed-strawberry enamel. The second cup and saucer are decorated in bright enamels with figures engaged in various pursuits with a pagoda in the distance.
First cup and saucer: 3 and 4 9/16 in. (7.5 and 12 cm.) diam.
Second cup and saucer: 3 ½ and 5 1/8 in. (8.8 and 13 cm.) diam.
