CANOSAN, HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.
Both depicted in full gallop with the forelegs projecting forward, the rear legs together and deliberately fashioned without their lower portions, each with a ridged mane and conical top-knot between upright ears, their muzzles perforated for attachment of separately-made now-missing reins, with a large perforation on the sides of the body and a small perforation below the tail, both preserving white slip throughout
