TWO GREEK TERRACOTTA HORSES CANOSAN, HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C. Both in full gallop with the forelegs projecting forward, their heads turned to their right, with a ridged mane and a top-knot, the bridals with applied disk-shaped phalerae, the reins resting on the neck, the bodies white-slipped, preserving traces of polychromy, one perforated on the back for attachment of a now-missing rider 10 in. (25.4 cm.) and 11 in. (27.9 cm.) long (2)
