Two Sevres white biscuit groups of sheep
Circa 1765, the first group with incised dividers mark
Each modelled with three ewes and a ram huddled together around a rock, with two ewes lying close to each other and a ewe and the ram standing, on a D-shaped rockwork mound base (first group broken through and restored, five ears and ram's head restored, ram's horn and ear lacking, second group with two ears lacking and two restored, the ram's nose and and muzzle restored)

Lot Essay

Although not recorded by Émile Bourgeois and Geo. Lechevallier-Chevignard in Le Biscuit de Sèvres, the paste and incised dividers mark are consistent with Sèvres porcelain of this period.
