TWO WOVEN COTTON AND WOOL JACQUARD COVERLETS
American, 19th century
The first worked in red, navy and green threads on a slate blue ground in alternating bars of snowflake-foliate and double rose pattern, signed in lower left corner blocks, Susan Har- Bargh 1840; the second worked in red and blue threads in blocks of a stylized foliate pattern enlcosed by a meandering vine border, signed in lower right corner block, Made by L. Metz Montgo Mery Co. Rhinehart March 1843
