Lot Essay

According to Suzuki Juzo in Hiroshige (Tokyo: Nihon Keizai Shimbunsha, 1970), there is no publisher's seal on the first printed set because the series was first privately published in the manner of a picture notebook that included four pages of kyoka verses for distribution at a private kyoka (light verse) club.
