Shini-e [memorial portrait] of the actor Nakamura Utaemon IV in the role of Taira Kiyomori, one of the last roles played by the actor before his death in Osaka in 1852, above is a tanka by Umeya Kakuju referring to the actor's role of Taira Kiyomori, although unsigned this design is always attributed to Kuniyoshi and two preparatory brush drawings in his hand support this attribution, good impression, colours and condition
