c.1919 KENILWORTH SCOOTER
Registration No. AC 8556 (not currently registered and without paperwork)
Frame No. 590
Engine No. 597-17
Though the Kenilworth was virtually the sole survior of the short scooter-mania that followed World War One, it was destined to die in the 1925/26 recession. This example is thought to have perhaps been a prototype model as it has a box frame chassis rather than the tubular kind found on later models. The engine is an overhead valve, 142cc made by the Norman Engineering Co, Leamington Spa. It has a sprung seat on telescopic forks, running boards and a friction transmission. It also comes complete with a small tool box housing spare spark plugs and a spanner. Whilst unrestored it seems in sound condition and the engine is unsiezed.
