A set of six watercolours of Ceremonial Gondolas

Depicted in these six watercolours are important Venetian figures standing or sitting in the bow of their 'Bissona' a type of Venetian ceremonial boat - decorated with allegorical and fanciful carvings and rowed by eight costumed oarsmen. The inscription denotes that these were produced to commemorate a ceremony or regatta which took place on the 27 May 1775.
