Lot Essay

The creation of a one-piece chair form offered an enduring challenge for many designers during the twentieth century. Panton's own experiments into the form began in the 1950s, and were continually reassed in a variety of experimental medium.
This design, unique in blue acrylic, was created for the Asbaek Gallery, Copenhagen.
