FIRST EDITIONS. 'N. Wallis, Archtiect' is know only from the three works of his published by Taylor in the early 1770s. While it is likely that he was a hack artist employed by Taylor, it 'may be a pseudonym, perhaps even for Taylor himself who was certainly capable of producing original designs, or of synthesising those of others' (RIBA 3573). I: Harris 899; RIBA 3573. II: Harris 903; RIBA 3575.
