Salop and his wife Catherine, daughter and heir of Thomas Thomason of York, married Frances, 3rd Earl of Bandon (1810-1877) on 16 August 1832. Emily Elizabeth, second daughter of Thomas Whitmore married Colonel Eardley Wilmot in 1855. Catherine, only daughter of J. Thomson and his wife, Catherine only daughter of James Grierson, married J. Whitmore of Apley Park, Salop.
