Lot Essay

The present work dates to Muller's sketching trip with the Lycian expedition in the autumn of 1843. Lycia was the furthest point south west of Asia Minor on what is today Teke peninsular in Turkey. The area was originally populated by the Anatolian race of fiercely independent Lycians.
