Lot Essay

The son of a Perth magistrate, Frazer moved to Edinburgh in the early 1880s. He studied at the RSA Schools and was joint winner of the Keith Prize with Robert Duddingstone Herdman. He holds the record for seventy-three consecutive years exhibiting at the RSA. In 1908 he became President of the Society of Scottish Artists and President of the Scottish Arts Club in 1926.
