ZAN ITALIAN SILVER AND BRONZE MONSTRANCE BASE, circa 1700, inset with wood, the partly fluted molded oval base on four corkscrew supports, the base chased with strapwork, stylized shells, two ends with fully modeled putto bust, the center with overlapping acanthus chased stem, knop above, supporting bronze globe, the globe engraved with sun, stars, zodiac symbols and a crescent moon and further stars, surmounted by fully modelled Cupid, with upstretched arms--12¼in. (31.1cm.) high
