This painting is dedicated to Mo Boji (1877-1958) from Dongguan, Guangdong province. Mo was widely known as the most important collector of books in the Guangdong area, claiming to have acquired half a million volumes in his own collection. Mo moved to Hong Kong in 1937 and passed away in Macau in 1958.
