Lot Essay

One of the most important living Israeli artists, Malnovitzer's work is devoted to Jewish themes. The electric blue sky, variegated sand and the abstracted figures are rendered in his signature expressive and painterly style. Taschlich depicts the symbolic casting of sins on the water, a ritual performed on the Jewish New Year.
