Hinged cover engraved with a table set with an octagonal candlestick with flaming candle with small armorial shield to its base, crossed clay pipes laid on paper containing tobacco, a goblet and wicker-bound wine flask all below an eagle in flight overhead , holding in its beak a motto scroll Ne Quid Nimis (Not too much of anything), base engraved with a large roundel bearing a reversed and interlaced monogram
