According to Mr Odell George, Marvin Gaye had three identical stage jackets made, the above one in brown velvet, another in green velvet and another in black velvet.

A brown velvet stage jacket decorated at the shoulders with embroidered orange, yellow and green flower heads and mirrored sequins; accompanied by a copy of Black Stars Magazine, January 1975, featuring several photographs of Gaye wearing a similar jacket on stage at Chicago's Amphitheatre; and a copy of Step News International, May 1976, featuring a photograph of Gaye on the front cover wearing this jacket at a Charity Concert in Radio City Music Hall, New York where he was presented with a U.S. State Department Ambassador of Good Will award by Shirley Temple Black.
