Two tall cylindric vases

Each of vertical cylindrical shape and of slightly different brown color, one taller than the other, the vases illustrate the richness of this time-honored material. Each bears two oxidized nickel rings at bottom and mouth. Made from the Japanese cedars which color changed gradually over 1000 years underground, covered by volcano ashes; each signed in Japanese Shuji and dated 2015.6 on the
base; individual wooden box inscribed in Japanese Shuji, Hanaike (flower vase) and Jindaisugi (lignified cedar). On each of the boxes Haru (spring) and Shura (Ashura, the God) are written, the title inspired by the collection of poems written by Kenji Miyazawa (1896–1933), translated ‘Mental Sketch Modified’.
