The wooden barque Helen, 346 tons, was built in New Brunswick, Canada, in 1846. Owned by Miller & Co. and commanded by Captain T. Johnson, she spent her early years voyaging to Quebec out of Montrose until settling for destinations nearer home prior to her loss through stranding in 1855-56.
