DEDICATION COPY OF A SCARCE NAPOLEONIC BIRTHDAY ODE. The quotation on 1/3r from Cesarotti's Pronea celebrates the "eroica Madre, Diva LETIZIA" of that poem, and serves a fitting epigram for the 3-page Dedication which follows. Napoleon I's mother is hailed for the birth of her son, a moment in which rested the destiny and happiness of the nation. The 27-stanza Ode was delivered by Edisto Nolomeo on 15 August 1808 in Savona. The Ode is a ruminitive celebration of Napoleon on this "immortal day." RARE. No copy of this work appears in American Book Prices Current since at least 1930.
