Felix on the Bat: being a scientific inquiry into the use of the cricket bat

London: Baily Brothers, 1850. 4to., hand-coloured lithographic frontispiece, 6 hand-coloured and 3 uncoloured plates, printed by M. and N. Hanhart, wood-engraved vignettes (some soiling and spotting, mainly marginal), original blind-stamped green cloth with gilt vignette on upper cover, gilt edges (rebacked, preserving most of old spine, gilt tarnished, corners bumped hard). Provenance: H.W. Warner (ownership inscription on front pastedown).

Second edition. With the exception of "Home-Block", there are significant changes to the plates of batting strokes. These not only affect the landscape but the costume and features of the batsman himself. Allen 50; Padwick 397.
