(120mm tear to plate I but without loss, plate XI badly worn and repaired and soiled, plates XIV and XVIII and last few text gatherings severely browned, leaf L1 with marginal tear at gutter, 3Q2 torn and repaired with loss of about 8 words, a few other minor marginal nicks and tears, some along creasefolds to plates, soiling throughout.) Modern leather (rubbed). Provenance: Samuel Johnson (ownership inscription on title dated 1844).
