Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1947 and its subsequent sale on October 10th of the same year.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never before been offered in public.

Patek Philippe produced the reference 725 from 1940 until approximately 1981. It was produced in two series, the first like the present watch with subsidiary dials and the second with date, day and month apertures. The reference 725/2 differs from the reference 725 by the shoulders around the pendant.

Reference 725 is illustrated in Patek Philippe by M. Huber and A. Banberry, 1993, plate 180, p. 206.
