Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with engraved inscription "1922 - 1947" on the snap on back in 1946 and subsequent sale on 1 July 1947. It has never been offered in public before.

Production of reference 1582 was launched in 1944. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 176, pl. 277.
