Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1963 and its subsequent sale on 4 March 1963.

This watch is thought to be only the second example in yellow gold without subsidiary seconds having appeared at auction.

The production of reference 1593 was launched in 1944. Collectors call this model Hour Glass as its shape with the narrow waist resembles sand timers already used several hundred years ago.

Similar watches are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by M. Huber & A. Banbery, 2nd edition, pages 128/129 and 141.
