Accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming the date of manufacture as 1953 and its subsequent sale on May 17th of the following year.

According to our research the present watch has never before appeared at auction. The 2279 is a very rare reference number and it may be the first to be seen on the market.

Patek Philippe commenced production of the reference 2279 in 1948 and manufacture of this model is believed to have continued until 1958.
