Charles Jennens, the impresario and friend of Handel, formed a very considerable collection of pictures, initially housed in London, where it was comprehensively listed by Dodsley (op. cit. pp. 76-96), and subsequently transferred to Gopsall.

The figures are probably the work of another hand.
