QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK IN RED ENAMEL WITHIN DOUBLE SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

It is very rare to find a Qianlong mark and period painted enamel tripod censer and cover of this type. One example with similar coin-shaped attachments but with its cover missing is in the Beijing Palace Museum, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 43 - Metal-bodied Enamel Ware, Hong Kong, 2002, p. 238, no. 225.
