A wide ranging collection of domestic recipes and remedies, including 'Physicall Receites' such as 'a medicine for the feebleness of the brayne', 'for a headach wich coms of to much drinckinge', 'to stay the hic-cok', with remedies against the plague, poison, the 'Kings Evill', asthma, 'for the tombling of the hart' and even an excellent remedy for a red face 'this hath been approved'. Methods of healing wounds, sores, burns and other ailments such as gout are discussed, some revealed as 'a very rare secritt'. Culinary recipes include the making of preserves, breads, cakes, creams, a variety of 'sirrups', flower waters and perfumes. Other useful household hints, 'receites of good huswifrye', show how to make a 'Jolly of pyppins', 'a daynty puddinge' or how 'to guild or to write with gold'.
