Roger Tallon designed the 'Wimpy' chair on the request of Robert Sentou, the French industrialist. Tallon designed the chair to be dismantled in order to save space during storage and transportation. The two shells of the seat and back were designed as an hommage to Charles and Ray Eames. The chair was used to furnish French restaurants of the hamburger chain 'Wimpy', and has hence become known by that name.
A chair of this design with a molded plywood seat is in the collection of the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
