Lot Essay

With Rolex original guarantee stating the present watch was sold in Madrid on December 20, 1983.

New-old-stock is a term often overused in the world of vintage watch collecting, but this is the exception that proves the rule. From the satin finish of the lugs, to the crisp edges, the flawless numerals and hallmarks, the untouched caseback and the mint dial, this watch has obviously never seen a watchmaker, and has hardly ever been worn, since it left the shop. Furthermore accompanied by its original guarantee, this is a rare occasion for the savvy collector to acquire an example of the extremely attractive turquoise stella dial with diamonds 18039 in virtually mint condition.
