Signed Rolex, circa 1920
With nickel-finished lever movement, 15 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, the silvered matte dial with luminous Arabic numerals, luminous hands, subsidiary seconds, in a circular inner case with snap on back, all hinged within a circular outer case with engine-turned screwed bezel, wire lugs, case, dial and movement signed
32 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

This model is an example of an early advance in the design of water-resistant wristwatches. In the present lot, the screwed bezel conceals the hinged watch inside an outer case, making the watch more impermeable than previous designs.
