These are copies of letters of Amir 'Ali Shir Nawai, Mawlana Jami, Sultan Malik Shah together with some anonymous love letters.
Khwaja Ikhtiyar Munshi was a native of the capital Herat where he was employed with the correspondance of the Shah Sultan Muhammad of Khurassan. He is mentioned in Calligraphers and Painters, A Treatise by Qadi Ahmad, Minorsky, V. trans., Washington, 1959, p. 91.
